needed to repair a teacher device. the existing whiteboard could no longer be erased cleanly. installed your product over the existing board.
We have large huge walls we applied this product on. It makes the space feel much more creative with their use as white boards.
Opti-rite Lite is an easy product to recover your damaged white board. MyWhiteBoards is a great company with which to work. I messed up my order and within one day they had corrected my double order and refunded my $$ and my board looks great.
We made a homemade whiteboard out of the wrong kind of melamine. This cover was exactly what we needed to fix our mistake. I just wish we knew about it before assembling the board...we would have used it first!! It's awesome and application wasn't too hard. Two people definitely made it easier.
Received white board material in a timely manner and was able to install quickly and easily. Executives were very pleased on how quick we were able to cover old chalk boards with white board panels and I thank you for quick and timely delivery.
Purchased for my children as a deterrent to them writing on the wall - 7,6,4 and 2 year old. 7 and 6 year old helped to install. They love it! No more writing on walls! :)
..
I received my product in the mail in EXCELLENT shape. I didn't exactly follow the installation instructions, so I have multiple bubbles and wrinkles that are my fault. The product is very durable, and in most cases comes off with just a whiteboard eraser. Using a whiteboard cleaner gets everything else. I could shoot myself for not following the installation instructions, but the application is still usable. The price is a little high for me, and most of the other teachers were in total shock when I told them the price. Funny to me is that the other teachers can't use their (very old) whiteboards! So, I guess you could say I am still a winner with my usable board.

Briana from Salem, Oregon asked:

Q
Would you recommend this product to turn a corkboard into a dry erase board? It is part of an old three board sliding panel system with two chalk boards. We want to keep the chalk boards but replace the cork.
Answer
Hello Briana,

It is impossible to say how this material would stick to old cork and how well the cork would hold up, our suggestion would be to contact our sales department at 1-866-366-1500 and ask for their suggestions and perhaps a sample of the Opti-RIte lite that you could test on your corkboards.

Emily from Danville, IL asked:

Q
Would you recommend putting this product over a chalkboard?
Answer
Hi Emily, yes, we would recommend this product for chalkboards.  It is a non-magnetic solution, unlike our Magnetic Opti-Rite.  But this should work fine for your purposes.  Please feel free to give us a call if we can answer any other questions.

Darrell Huffman from TN asked:

Q
How easy is it to remove from a flat paint drywall surface?
Answer
Hi Darrell,

It really depends on how long you plan to have it installed.  If the surface is primed and clean, and it is installed for a shorter period of time, it does come off easily.  But if left for an extended period of time it could remove a layer of paint, much like any off-the-shelf vinyl tape.  If you have any follow up questions, please call our sales department 866-366-1500, as we'd be more than happy to send out a sample for testing purposes.

Patrick McElligott from New York asked:

Q
Do I need to use a primer to apply over existing chalk boards, I am doing an entire school?
Answer
Hi Patrick! No, you don't have to prime all of the chalkboards. But clean all of the chalk off extremely well. If this isn't done, the adhesive is not guaranteed to stick well. I hope that helps!!

Brett from OH asked:

Q
If is use this over a magnetic chalkboard, will the applied surface still work with magnetic materials or will I need to purchase the magnetic whiteboard surface?
Answer
Hi Brett,

Thank you for your question. If you are applying the Opti-Rite over your magnetic chalkboard, it should keep its magnetic receptiveness. Another option for resurfacing a magnetic board is our magnetic dry erase sheets. (https://mywhiteboards.com/dry-erase-magnetic-sheets.html) These work great on any worn-out magnetic chalkboards or whiteboards, and they are easy to apply and roll up for storage.

If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out to our customer service team at (866)-366-1500, and they would love to help you.

Jamie Meredith from Whitefield Maine asked:

Q
Is this product magnetic?
Answer
Thank you for your question. Our 48" Wide OptiRite® Lite is non-magnetic. If applied to a magnetic surface (like a chalkboard), it should keep its magnetic receptiveness. Another option, which is magnetic and peel & stick, is our OptiMA Self-Adhesive Dry Erase Wall Covering https://mywhiteboards.com/opti-rite-mag-self-adhesive.html.
